2020 China International Risk Forum & China Finance Review International

Special Issue of the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal
Theme: Contagion, Capital Markets, and Coronavirus
We would like to announce that the Modern Risk Society will hold its sixth annual China International Risk Forum (CIRF2020) online on August 21-22, 2020. The virtual CIRF conference is co-sponsored by the Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the School of Finance, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
The purpose of the forum is to promote research broadly related to financial risk management in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world. As in the previous conferences, the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal dedicates a special issue to papers to be presented at the forum. The special issue has a theme of Contagion, Capital Markets, and Coronavirus. Potential research topics include but are not limited to the following topics:
Contagion, capital markets, and coronavirus
Asset pricing, risk factors and anomalies
Corporate finance and governance
Credit risk, interest risk, and liquidity risk
Behavioral perspectives of risk management
Ambiguity and ambiguity aversion
Pension risk and institutional investment managemant
Catastrophic risk, tail risk and insurance
Financial stability, leverage and systematic risk
Political risk and macroeconomic risk
Household finance, health risk and personal risk management
Cyber risk and enterprise risk management
Big data and predictive modeling in risk management

In case you would like to participate in the conference onsite, you may join the 2020 China Finance Review International (CFRI 2020) Conference held at the Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University on August 21-22, 2020. Please indicate your preference for CIRF2020 (virtual) or CFRI2020 (scheduled to be onsite) when submitting your paper. The same program committee will work on submissions to both conferences.
Papers presented at the conference can also be considered by the China Finance Review International (CFRI) hosted by the Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (https://www.emerald.com/insight/publication/issn/2044-1398). Papers accepted to the Chinese sessions will be recommended to “管理科学学报” (http://jmsc.tju.edu.cn/ch/index.aspx) and “经济学动态” (http://www.jjxdt.org/). The standard review processes of the respective journals will be followed.

Conference Submission
Both completed papers and early drafts with innovative ideas related to the theme topics are encouraged. Chinese submissions are welcome, as there will be Chinese sessions.

Conference Registration
The registration fee for the conference is USD 50 for presenting authors and non-presenting participants. The conference is free to session chairs and discussants who do not have a paper in the program. It is also free to student participants. Presenting authors should register for the conference before August 1, 2020. Online registration starts on July 10, 2020 on the forum webpage.
Submission to PBFJ
The submission to PBFJ special issue is separate from the conference submission with its deadline on October 1, 2020. Submission details will be provided shortly after the conference.
